1st Birthday Celebrations!

Our little man turned 1 yesterday! Of course I'm in denial, I can't believe a year has gone by so quickly. We decided to celebrate with family instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a huge elaborate birthday party. We did the big party with our oldest when he turned 1 and I have to say this week has been a million times less stressful.

We went out to dinner last night (because its also the year anniversary of me having endured an almost 2 day labor!) and then headed to Chuck E Cheese. Kai had so much fun playing with his big brother and my husband and I really enjoyed the laid back family celebration.

We are in no way opposed to big birthday bashes. We would just rather wait a couple years so he can be more involved and enjoy his party too. What is your view on parties for 1yr olds? Big bash or celebrating with just family?
