Cleaning chaos?

I was dusting my dining room table tonight after dinner, not a normal occurance, but a drink had been spilled on the tablecloth and when that was removed for washing I saw all the reasons why my table was screaming out for a good polish and I wondered, how do other moms clean? Once a week in a marathon session, upstairs, downstairs, every surface in between so it's clean for the week (well maybe less than that!) or do you clean a little every day, a bathroom here and floors there?

What's your picking up philosophy? throughout the day or after the kids are asleep or live around the piles, there are more important things to worry about?
