There is no cost for the ministry program but there is a minor charge for the manuals in each program. DivorceCare is hosted on Tuesday nights from 6 PM - 8 PM. For more information contact: Rev. DivorceCare @ First

The Spring 2010 session of DivorceCare at First starts on Tuesday, April 20th from 6 PM - 8 PM. DivorceCare is a 13-week class that you can enter at any time during those 13-weeks. They are not necessarily accumulative. There is no fee for the classes but there is a $15 manual charge but you can use that manual for any and all future sessions. Pre-registration is helpful but not necessary. For more information, call the Pastoral Care office at First Baptist Church of Norfolk at (757) 461-3226 ext 221.

smart decision

Last fall, I made the decision to attend DivorceCare. I have benefited from the information shared on the videos, as well as from the new friends I've made, who truly understand how I feel. My only regret is that I let my pride keep me from attending sooner.

My 8 year old daughter attends with me. She's a different child now! The bad dreams, insecurities, and bathroom problems have all disappeared. She once told me that she thought DivorceCare for Kids should be called FunCare for Kids, because when she's in her group she has fun and actually forgets about the sadness caused by divorce. What a blessing!

Thanks, First Baptist Church of Norfolk, for offering DivorceCare and opening it up for all to attend!

DivorceCare

While my mother did not go to DivorceCare, she went to something similar at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Va. Beach when my parents split up 30 years ago. It really helped her. She made some really good friends.

DivorceCare last night was Great!

Last night was the second night of a 13-week schedule. These are open groups and a person can enter at any time. Last night we discussed "Getting help and where to get it?" It was well attended and the small group discussion was good. Next Tuesday we will be discussion Anger. This will be a gender divided small group.
