Fun In February
Start the weekend early with a visit to the Virginia Living Museum's Groundhog night. There will be activities including a visit from the museum whistle pig also known as the groundhog. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and cost $5 for adults, $4 for children with a discount for members. The show Assignment Earth will play in the Abbitt Planetarium at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The show is $2. In honor of Black History Month, the museum will show Follow The Drinking Gourd at 4:30 p.m. beginning this Saturday. It will continue Saturdays in February. It is about how the stars of the northern sky helped slaves escape via the Underground Railroad. It is $4 plus museum admission.
If you enjoy LEGOs then head over the the Heampton Roads Naval Museum on Saturday for LEGO ships. Enjoy building a ship there or bringone already made. There will be a context at 2 p.m.
The Peninsula Fine Art Center will have its monthly free admission weekend Feb. 4 and Feb. 5. Enjoy the latest exhibit centered around animal artist. Saturday children can make a mask. It is $2 for the activity for non-members.
