Newbie Blogger
I would like to take a moment and introduce myself to all the faithful followers and new followers of MyTideWaterMoms.com. My name is Jennifer Borgstrom and I am a newbie blogger for MyTideWaterMoms.com
My husband and I moved here with the military over 10 years ago… hard to believe. We have been lucky enough to stay in the Hampton Roads area throughout the years with my husband’s military assignments. We absolutely love the Hampton Roads area and look forward to raising our two children here, Hanna (age 7) and Brody (age 4).
Through our experiences of being a military family, we have learned the challenges of adjusting to new communities. It can be very stressful for military families moving to new communities every couple of years and starting over trying to find the best military-friendly businesses and feeling connected with the new community. I have also been surprised that in my years of living in the Hampton Roads area, there are so many great businesses who want to extend their services to military members and offer amazing incentives. I found that there is a major disconnect; many of these businesses offer amazing military incentives as a way to show appreciation for military service but have no effective means to get the word out there to military members. It is these two reasons that I decided to embark on the launch of MilitaryBridge. The main goal of MilitaryBridge is to be a resource for military members moving to the Hampton Roads area or even those who already live in the area on what some of the best military – friendly businesses are and to act as a platform for military members to learn about great military discounts available to them. I also share great community events going on in the local community, military and non-military related. If you would like to check out MilitaryBridge go to http://www.militarybridge.com
I can remember when I had my first child and I did not really know many other moms - I turned to MyTidewaterMoms website. I got in touch with local moms and felt connected as a mother. I got such valuable advice from new friends that I made and I saw it as such a valuable resource. I am very proud to now be a part of this website and share my thoughts. I look forward to sharing posts that relate to military life. Some of the topics I will share are military-friendly businesses, military discounts, military events and programs in the community, stresses of PCSing, and more! I also look forward to sharing thoughts on other topics that I am passionate about such as being a mother - I could think of thousands of topics to talk about alone on parenting! I am also passionate about traveling, sports, cooking, and current events going on locally and nationally.
I am really excited about this new adventure in my life and I hope that my posts are meaningful and full of helpful information.
