Pregnant Olympian

This weekend the eyes of the world will be on London and the athletes competing in the Olympic games. One athlete in particular will be getting a lot of attention and its not Michael Phelps. Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi a shooter from Malaysia will be competing in the 10-metre air rifle event while 8 months pregnant. Amazing considering I couldn't even find the energy to get myself to yoga class when I was 8 months pregnant :) There have been many questions raised concerning Taibi and her pregnancy. How will being pregnant affect her performance? Well, according to Taibi the added weight to her front has actually helped her balance. Another question I heard from an interview is that if she wins a medal will she share it with the baby? That question in particular made me think of something that crossed my mind when I was pregnant. Can a pregnant women drive in the HOV lane? Technically there are two people in the car right? Just something to ponder while watching the Olympics this weekend. Go USA! & Go Malaysia!
