Watch that beer
I've always thought that I'd be super smart when I have teenagers who might be tempted to sneak a sip of beer or wine (I'm being generous and saying a "sip," when I know it might be more.) But last night, during the Super Bowl, a group of three third graders and one second grader gathered around the beer in my house and one apparently tried to open one with his hands -- and not a screw top. I say apparently because we're not exactly sure what happened, but after talking to the boys and piecing together the story, we think that was the case. Yikes -- fortunately we caught them and nothing happened. I don't think -- or I LIKE to think -- that they wouldn't have actually tried the beer -- but who knows! Lesson learned! Watch your beer, no matter what your child's age.

How interesting -- I always
How interesting -- I always wondered if the no-taboo approach works. Glad to hear it did for you. It's time for me to start thinking more about all of this. How did this happen? I feel like my kids should still be newborns!

Funny!
Had they opened one and been brave enough to try it, they probably would have gone, "ewwwwwwww!" like I did when I snuck a sip of my dad's beer at that age! It sure did cure me of my curiosity, though. LOL
But--I was raised with a no-taboo policy about alcohol, since my dad's from Spain and there was wine on the table at every meal. It worked for our house--kept it from being "forbidden fruit" when I was a teen!
