Yum! Homemade baby food
Baby Kai has recently added solid foods to his diet. As with our oldest son he seems to really enjoy the homemade baby food I prepare for him. It may seem more complicated than opening up a jar or pouch of store bought baby food but its actually much easier and I feel better knowing exactly what goes into his food. I started him out on some of the easiest to prepare foods, banana and avocado. Just mash with a fork and serve :) I have also made a couple other foods so far that require a tiny bit more effort. I like to peel, steam, then use the blender for foods that require cooking first such as carrots and apples. You can also batch cook foods and freeze the purees. Just prepare the baby food and pour into ice cube trays, cover, and freeze. We like to wait a week between introducing new foods to watch for signs if an allergy. As with anything baby related ask your pediatrician for advice on feeding your baby.
